At the hour of autonomy, there were just two establishments, one for the Hearing Impaired at Lahore and the other for the Blind at Bahawalpur, working heavily influenced by Education Department. Before foundation of a free division of Special Education Department, there were 51 establishments in the region with an enlistment of 4265, which has now ascended to 248 providing food right around 28,850 exceptional youngsters, including 20 organizations of a custom curriculum decayed from Federal Government because of eighteenth Constitutional Amendment.
